Wisconsin Birthday Bash

Last weekend we headed to Wisconsin to be with my Mom who had a surgery done at the UW Hospital.  The thyroid removal surgery went extremely well, and she is recovering perfectly!  My mom has successfully beaten cancer twice, and she is one of the strongest people I know.
We wanted to be there for her, and would not have missed it for anything.

While we were home we decided to throw a birthday party for Emma who turned 3 on the 19th.  We had friends and family over and the day could not have been any nicer.  The weather was perfect and it was s nice to spend the day with people we see way to little.

About 1/3 of the way to Wisconsin the Jeep rolled over the 100k mark, maybe we can get another 100k out of her!

 Just chillin with my "coffee"

The absolutely amazing Barbie cake that Grandma Frank made for Emma's party, so cool!  Thanks Gramma!

Gift opening, she is so spoiled, its not even funny!

 Captive Audience

On Monday, after the surgery we had to stop at Ellas Deli in Madison.  I had a few vague memories of my grandpa and grandma Stobb taking me and my brother here when I was very young.  I walked in the door and it was like walking down memory lane.  The pictures do absolutely no justice.  Every sing thing on the ceiling or walls is animated and moving.  It is the coolest place I have ever been too, Emma's eyes wandered non-stop just like mine did when I was here age.

 Another view

Oh yeah, and the food was amazing as well.

On the way back home we stopped back in Valley City to pick up the new puppy we picked out on the way.  We would like to introduce our new friend and hunting buddy, Jake.  Jake is a purebred German Shorthaired Pointer.

Emma Loves her new buddy, he is still unsure of the whole idea.

I think they will get along just fine.

I will be post again tonight or tomorrow, as I type this we are getting ready to throw another party for Emma, this is for the local Williston friends and co-workers.  Like I said, she is spoiled!!

New Do.

Today Emma got her hair cut for only her second time, and the first was about a year ago.

A little cut, and a little curl by the best hairdresser in Williston....Lindsey!

So pretty, time to lock this little girl up for about 15 more years!

Out with the Facebook, back into the Blog

Facebook is getting annoying again for me(Kevin) so I have decided to post anything going on in the household to the blog once again.  I will not recap all the way back to the last post, but will post new things on here going forward to all interested in what is going on out west.

With the sudden amazingly warm weather we decided to give Emma one of her Birthday gifts a little early.  She got her first ever pedal bike and is loving it.  Still new to it, but loving it.  Above she is rocking her new Tinkerbelle helmet!

 Some assembly required

I now own the entire neighborhood!!!

In other news I am a super excited about he sudden warm weather, but also sad at the same time as I did not get out ice fishing as much as I wanted to this winter, and shaving an entire month off of the season is not helping me.  I was hoping to get out a few more time, but that is not going to happen!

We are Wisconsin bound this coming weekend for a small party to celebrate Emma's 3rd birthday.  We will hopefully run into lots of friendly faces while we are home!

Since last time....

Nothing much to report since our last post.  It's been a quiet summer which is nice.  We enjoyed some time ridding bikes and just hanging out.  Emma learned how to ride her own little bike, and also enjoyed her first zoo experience on the 4th of July weekend.

We had our annual labor day camping trip with the family.  It was a little chilled but we had a great time hanging out with family and playing around at the park.

With the end of summer coming we tried to get a couple camping trips in our last one being in a couple weeks, but the most recent trip was definitely chilly but none the less we still had a good time.

One of our last camping trips.  The temperature never got above 65 the whole weekend but obviously that did stop our little girl from enjoying the outdoors.

Lastly, on our way home from our camping trip from Lake Sakakawea State Park we saw this oil pad.  This is one of the mega pads that are in North Dakota.  On this one there are 11 active pumps and within a 2 mile radius there were 7 more pads all of them had a drilling rig on them and also at least 2-4 active pumps already going.  This is definitely an active area.

It's finally done!!!

It has been almost 2 years since the ground was broken for the Williston Area Recreation Center (ARC) and it is now completed and open for business!  The ARC is a state-of-the-art, 250,000+ square foot center that has indoor walking/running tracks, cardio/weight lifting areas and indoor water parks.  Below are some pictures of the inside on opening night.  None of us wanted to leave, it is so much more than we expected.

I Love this place
